Softball Game Preview: Dover Crimson Tornadoes vs. Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs

The Dover Crimson Tornadoes will square off against the Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Dover is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.

Dover is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Archbishop Hoban a 2-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, Bloom-Carroll waltzed into their match on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Hawks as they made off with a 19-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 19 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Bloom-Carroll got a great performance from Maddi Walters as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. Walters has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Madi Grefe was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaiden Sharrow, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI.

Bloom-Carroll always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Hartley only posted an OBP of .357.

Dover's record is now 25-3. As for Bloom-Carroll, their record now sits at 26-3.
