Softball Recap: Starmount Extends Winning Streak to Three

Starmount had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Ashe County Huskies by a score of 5-1. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Huskies back in March, they had to take a 9-1 loss.

Starmount's record now sits at 7-9. As for Ashe County, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Looking ahead, Starmount will be playing in front of their home fans against Mount Airy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ashe County, they will venture away from home to face off against Freedom at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.39 runs per game on average), something the Huskies will no doubt try to take advantage of.
