Softball Recap: North Duplin Extends Winning Streak to Four

North Duplin won the last time they faced East Duplin and things went their way on Monday too. North Duplin came out on top against East Duplin by a score of 12-7. The win was nothing new for the Rebels as they're now sitting on four straight.

Addison Higginbotham was excellent, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Abigail Brown (Norris) was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

North Duplin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .407 or higher in four consecutive contests.

North Duplin pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for East Duplin, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5.

Looking ahead, North Duplin will head out on the road to square off against Hobbton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hobbton has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.17 runs per game on average), something North Duplin will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for East Duplin, they will host South Lenoir at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
