Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Patrick County

Patrick County had won two straight games and Jayden Corns did his part to make it three on Friday. The Cougars took down the Staunton River Golden Eagles 73-55 thanks in part to Corns, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. His big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points.

Bronson Edwards was another key player, putting up 12 points and eight boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 56% in the last three games he's played.

Patrick County now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Staunton River, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Staunton River will be home for the holidays to greet Craig County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Patrick County will be paying especially close attention to the Golden Eagles' game: after the Golden Eagles face off against the Rockets, they'll take on Patrick County again at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
