Baseball Recap: Sierra Beats Placer for Their Third Straight Win

It's playoff time, and Sierra had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Placer Hillmen get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Timberwolves as they're now sitting on three straight.

Not much got past Wyatt Bauer, who gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks to keep Placer off the board. Bauer also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sierra is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-16 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Ryan Reyes was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Collins Schluer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Sierra's victory bumped their record up to 9-17. As for Placer, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-13 record.

Coming up, Sierra will challenge Roseville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Timberwolves' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Placer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
