On the verge of overtime, Keegan Van Egdom wins it for South Dakota school.

This was almost a story about late-game heroics by Josh VanLingen of Western Christian (Hull, Iowa).

Instead, a full-court pass and heady shot by Keegan Van Egdom gave Sioux Falls Christian (Sioux Falls, S.D.) a big win on the road and one of the most dramatic highlights of the year in high school basketball.

Western Christian tied the game at 58 with just seconds to go on VanLingen's bucket.

But instead of letting the clock tick into overtime, senior Chad Barkema – narrowly missing ricocheting his pass off the backboard – delivered a laser to Van Egdom, who jumped, caught it and shot it in a split second to give Sioux Falls Christian the win.



The game pitted two of the best private school teams in the region. Sioux Falls Christian improved to 13-3 while Western Christian fell to 19-2.
