Baseball Game Preview: Palo Duro Dons vs. Caprock Longhorns

For the second straight game, Palo Duro will face off against Caprock. The Dons will venture away from home to take on the Longhorns at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palo Duro's hitters haven't had much luck over their past five matchups, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Palo Duro fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Caprock on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Dons have suffered since February 22nd.

For Caprock's part, their victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Neyo Talamantez, who scored a run while going 2-for-5. Talamantez also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Talamantez wasn't the only one making solid contact: Caprock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Palo Duro's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Caprock, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-19.
