Recap: Whitmer Panthers vs. Findlay Trojans
The Whitmer Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 48-31 to Findlay. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Whitmer of the 42-27 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mackenzie Royal-davis, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Shoup, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Whitmer has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Findlay, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whitmer will face off against Anthony Wayne at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Anthony Wayne is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games. As for Findlay, they will head out on the road to take on Northview at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Northview is ranked 138th, while Findlay is ranked 137th).
