Recap: Belton Tigers vs. Chaparral Bobcats
On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Belton beat Chaparral 20-14. Given Belton's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Chaparral is ranked 585th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Reese Rumfield, who threw for 171 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes.
The win makes it two in a row for Belton and bumps their season record up to 9-1. As for Chaparral, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Belton will look to defend their home field on Friday against University at 7:00 p.m. University is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. Chaparral does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
