Basketball Recap: Middlesex Comes Up Short

Middlesex lost against Mathews back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Middlesex Chargers fell 32-22 to the Mathews Blue Devils.

Middlesex dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.0 points per game. As for Mathews, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Middlesex won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Chincoteague at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Middlesex is facing Chincoteague at the right time seeing as Chincoteague is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mathews, they will face off against Carver College and Career Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
