Baseball Recap: Clint Comes Up Short

Clint saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell just short of the Pecos Eagles by a score of 8-7. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Oliver Chavez and Daniel Ochoa stepped up to the plate in a big way. Chavez went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI, while Ochoa went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. Chavez is becoming a predictor of Clint's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 4-6-1 when he doesn't). Mario Pacheco was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Clint kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Clint now has a losing record of 6-7-1. As for Pecos, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.

Coincidentally, Clint and Pecos will both be playing Coronado the next time they take the field. Clint will head out to face Coronado at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while Pecos will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
