Basketball Recap: Covenant Preparatory Christian Academy Falls to Calvary Christian Academy in First Game of Season

Covenant Preparatory Christian Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 64-42 to the Calvary Christian Academy Lions on Friday.

Calvary Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Adonis Thompson, who posted 29 points. Thompson's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Samuel Hughes, who scored 16 points.

Calvary Christian Academy now has a winning record of 2-1.

Calvary Christian Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Meadowbrook Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 2. Covenant Preparatory Christian Academy will be paying especially close attention to the Lions' game: after the Lions face off against Brevard HEAT, they'll take on Covenant Preparatory Christian Academy again at 6:00 p.m. on December 5.
