Softball Game Preview: Genoa Area Comets vs. Margaretta Polar Bears

The Genoa Area Comets will face off against the Margaretta Polar Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Genoa Area proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 12) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past Toledo Christian 5-4.

Makayla Magrum spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maddie Bronowski, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Rilee Popovich, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Margaretta beat Norwalk 5-2 on Saturday. The Polar Bears have beaten the Truckers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Truckers has come to flipping the script.

Elianna Young was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

Genoa Area now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Margaretta, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.
