Recap: Newcomb Skyhawks vs. Crownpoint Eagles
The Newcomb Skyhawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They breezed by Crownpoint at home to the tune of 82-44. The victory was just what Newcomb needed coming off of a 88-37 loss in their prior match.
Roydell Edison was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikal Ashley, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Newcomb's win bumped their record up to 15-11. As for Crownpoint, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-24.
Newcomb won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Thoreau at 7:00 p.m. on February 27th. Thoreau has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 282 points over their last four matches. Crownpoint does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
