Volleyball Game Preview: Ann Sobrato Bulldogs vs. Rancho San Juan Trailblazers

The Ann Sobrato Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Rancho San Juan Trailblazers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Tuesday, Ann Sobrato didn't have quite enough to beat Christopher and fell 3-2.

Ann Sobrato wouldn't go down easily and took Christopher into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 24-26, 22-25, 15-13.

Despite the loss, Ann Sobrato saw an underclassman step up: freshman Madeline Blair had 16 digs and two assists. Blair has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Meanwhile, Rancho San Juan entered their tilt with Seaside on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Spartans.

Rancho San Juan walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-16, 25-15, 25-20.

Rancho San Juan's win bumped their record up to 22-7. As for Ann Sobrato, they dropped their record down to 14-18 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
