Softball Recap: Iowa Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kinder, Iowa was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the DeQuincy Tigers. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Ayla Stollsteimer made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Morgan Henry, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Allie Darbonne was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Iowa's victory bumped their record up to 24-10. As for DeQuincy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-13.

As of now, neither Iowa nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
