Basketball Recap: Morgan Takes a Loss

Morgan won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were dealt a 72-31 loss at the hands of the John Glenn Little Muskies. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 347th, while the Little Muskies are ranked 62nd).

Despite the defeat, Morgan saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carson Huck posted six points.

John Glenn was led to victory by Stehl Bates and Cj Dolan. Bates went 8 of 11 on his way to 19 points in addition to six assists and six steals, while Dolan went 6 for 9 on his way to 15 points in addition to six assists and four steals. Bates' evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Davis, who made all 6 shots he took to post 12 points and five rebounds.

Morgan's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for John Glenn, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Morgan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-48 defeat against Waterford on the 21st. As for John Glenn, they will host Cambridge at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th.
