Soccer Recap: Southside Triumphs

On Friday, it was close, but the Southside Panthers sidestepped the Priceville Bulldogs for a 3-2 victory. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Bulldogs are ranked 71st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southside's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Priceville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southside will take on Douglas at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Southside is facing Douglas at the right time seeing as Douglas is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Priceville, they will face off against Lawrence County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Priceville will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Lawrence County will have lost five straight heading into Monday's matchup.
