Basketball Recap: Rancho Verde Beats Ygnacio Valley for Their Fourth Straight Win

Rancho Verde waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They wrapped up 2024 with a 72-57 win over the Ygnacio Valley Wolves.

Ygnacio Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jalan Cody, who went 5 of 10 en route to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Oliver, who posted 11 points.

Rancho Verde's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Ygnacio Valley, they moved to 7-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Rancho Verde and Jesuit will round out the year against one another at at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Jesuit will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Rancho Verde surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ygnacio Valley, they will be taking part in a tournament against Foothill at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Ygnacio Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.6 points per game this season.
