Softball Game Preview: West County Bulldogs vs. Potosi Trojans

The West County Bulldogs will take on the Potosi Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. West County will be strutting in after a win while Potosi will be coming in after a loss.

Potosi will be up against a hot West County team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. West County's pitcher stepped up to hand Arcadia Valley a 13-0 shutout on Wednesday. Fans of the Bulldogs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Grace Lynch was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. Lynch was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Lynch is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, West County got a massive performance out of Lacey LaMarr, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. LaMarr is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Barton, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.

West County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .526 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Potosi fell victim to Kennett and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Indians, falling 15-0. The loss put an end to the Trojans' undefeated start to the season.

West County's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Potosi, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Everything went West County's way against Potosi when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as West County made off with a 17-5 win. Will West County repeat their success, or does Potosi has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
