Preview: Athens Bulldogs vs. Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs
The Athens Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Athens is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
Last Friday, Athens didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Nelsonville-York, but they still walked away with a 19-13 victory.
Alex Pero continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 196 yards and two touchdowns. Pero is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last five games he's played. Braeden Young also helped out as he racked up 110 rushing yards.
Meanwhile, Bloom-Carroll put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Circleville, posting a 40-0 victory at home. Given Bloom-Carroll's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Circleville is ranked 548th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Athens is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Bloom-Carroll, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
