Basketball Game Preview: Collinwood Trojans vs. Wayne County Wildcats

Collinwood hasn't had much luck against Wayne County recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Collinwood Trojans will take on the Wayne County Wildcats. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Collinwood strolled past McKenzie with points to spare, taking the game 55-40. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Rebels are ranked 270th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Wayne County waltzed into their match on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They claimed a resounding 62-23 victory over the Tigers. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Wayne County's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points over those games. As for Collinwood, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.

Collinwood might still be hurting after the 80-59 loss they got from Wayne County when the teams last played back in February. Can Collinwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
