Basketball Recap: Gary West Side Comes Up Short

Gary West Side lost against South Bend Riley back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Gary West Side Cougars lost 54-29 to the South Bend Riley Wildcats.

South Bend Riley was led to victory by Lafaye Gibson and Emma Norton. Gibson went 6 of 8 en route to 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Norton went 7 for 11 on her way to 16 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Gibson is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailah Turner, who posted eight points.

Gary West Side's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for South Bend Riley, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Gary West Side has already played their next game, a 63-25 loss against Marquette Catholic on the 17th. As for South Bend Riley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-45 win against South Bend Adams on the 17th.
