Volleyball Preview: Masterman vs. Academy at Palumbo Griffin

Masterman will head out on the road to take on the Academy at Palumbo Griffin at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Masterman will be strutting in after a win while Academy at Palumbo will be coming in after a defeat.

George Washington came into Thursday's game looking for another win against Masterman, but Aanand Shah wouldn't allow it. Masterman came out on top against George Washington by a score of 3-1 on Thursday for which the team can thank Shah, who had 27 digs and two aces. Shah is crushing it when it comes to digs: he's had at least ten every time he's taken the court this season.

While Masterman might've won, it sure wasn't easy: George Washington scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 23-25, 25-20, 25-21.

Masterman can attribute much of their success to Drake Wu, who had seven aces and one block, and Omar Abouelatta, who had 21 digs, 13 kills, and four aces. Those 21 digs gave Abouelatta a new career-high. Tim Lan also deserves some recognition as he served his first aces of the season.
