Basketball Recap: Belton-Honea Path Bears vs. Walhalla Razorbacks

Belton-Honea Path lost against Walhalla back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Belton-Honea Path Bears took a blow against the Walhalla Razorbacks, falling 79-18. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Razorbacks are ranked 27th).

Leading Walhalla to victory were Kami Roach and Annie Campbell. Roach went 5-for-12 en route to 11 points in addition to seven steals and six assists, while Campbell posted 15 points and three steals. Campbell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Gianna Ortiz-Viera, who scored ten points and eight boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Belton-Honea Path and nudges their season record down to 4-15. As for Walhalla, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-3.

Coming up, Belton-Honea Path will head out on the road to square off against West-Oak at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. West-Oak is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season. Walhalla does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
