Basketball Recap: Mohawk Area Beats Southmoreland for Their Third Straight Victory

Mohawk Area extended their postseason success on Friday against Southmoreland. They took down the Southmoreland Scotties 55-38. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Scotties are ranked 312th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win was the third in a row for Mohawk Area, bringing their record for this year to 19-5. As for Southmoreland, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.

Coming up, Mohawk Area will challenge South Allegheny on Tuesday. South Allegheny knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Mohawk Area likes a good challenge. Southmoreland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
