Softball Game Preview: Thomas Nelson Generals vs. Washington County Commanders

The Thomas Nelson Generals will face off against the Washington County Commanders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Thomas Nelson is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Caverna on Saturday. They fell 7-2 to the Colonels.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Washington County). They put the hurt on Burgin with a sharp 31-14 win on Monday. The Commanders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by ten runs or more this season.

Izzy Medley was another key player, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.

Washington County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .722. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Washington County and bumps their season record up to 13-11. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Thomas Nelson, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
