Soccer Game Preview: Fairfield Prep vs. Glastonbury

The Fairfield Prep Jesuits are taking a road trip to square off against the Glastonbury Guardians at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fairfield Prep can't be too worried about heading out to take on Glastonbury: they just beat Xavier at home, who had been dominant on their own pitch up to that point. The Jesuits never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Saturday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Fairfield Prep's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut soccer rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Xavier are ranked fourth).

Meanwhile, Glastonbury hasn't lost a match since September 30th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Wednesday. They came out on top against East Catholic by a score of 2-0.

Fairfield Prep pushed their record up to 10-4-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for Glastonbury, the win got them back to even at 6-6-4.
