Baseball Recap: Mapleton Takes a Loss

Mapleton lost against New London last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mounties came up short against the Wildcats, falling 18-9. The Mounties just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Mapleton saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyson Welch, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Mapleton's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for New London, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Mapleton will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Open Door Christian at 5:00 p.m. The Mounties are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for New London, they are taking a road trip to face off against Plymouth at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
