Recap: Oswego Indians vs. West Elk Patriots
The Oswego Indians couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by West Elk at home and fell 65-18. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Oswego in their matchups with West Elk: they've now lost five in a row.
West Elk's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kodi Harshman led the charge by scoring 10 points along with 6 assists and 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Makaila Gillespie, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds.
Oswego's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for West Elk, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oswego will square off against Chetopa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Elk, they will head out on the road to face off against Neodesha at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
