Preview: Flinthills Mustangs vs. Sedan Devils

Flinthills is 0-6 against Sedan since October of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Flinthills Mustangs will look to defend their home field against the Sedan Devils at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Flinthills had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Yates Center, posting a 64-14 victory on the road.

Flinthills' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wyatt Osborne, who rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 46 yards and a touchdown. Osborne was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Braiden Neeley, who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown.

Flinthills' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Noah Lacey and his two sacks.

Sedan fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They breezed by Cedar Vale/Dexter at home to the tune of 72-42. The result was nothing new for Sedan, who have now won three matches by 30 points or more so far this season.

Their wins bumped Flinthills to 2-5 and Sedan to 3-4.

Flinthills was taken down by Sedan 48-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Flinthills, Tayden L tindle (who rushed for 79 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
