Basketball Recap: Lake Travis Takes a Loss

If Lake Travis was feeling good fresh off their 80-17 takedown of Akins on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cavaliers took a 50-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Austin Maroons on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cavaliers of the 44-42 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2025.

Evelyn Young continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Austin, dropping a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Jillian Shirk, who posted eight points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

Lake Travis' defeat dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Austin, they pushed their record up to 18-8 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
