The Brady Bulldogs will head out to face off against the City View Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Brady is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Clifton just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They and the Cubs were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 7-6 loss. The Bulldogs gained 70 more yards on the day, but it was the Cubs that made the best use of them.
Brady's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged four passes before it was all said and done. Benjiman Valdez was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by himself.
Meanwhile, City View entered their tilt with Valley View on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They claimed a resounding 56-13 win over the Eagles. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.
City View's win came from a few key players Brady will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Malachi Williams, who threw for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only six passes.
City View's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. Jayden Bradford refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself. He was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks and making ten total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Special teams was a major factor in the game for City View, racking up 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Matthew Whiteside, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
City View's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Brady, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Brady has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 332 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like City View struggles in that department as they've been averaging 183.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
