Sierra Vista had won four straight games and Jevon Yapi did his part to make it five on Saturday. The Sierra Vista Mountain Lions took down the Spanish Springs Cougars 79-65 which was due in part to Yapi, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten assists. The contest was his eighth in a row with at least 16 points.

Darius Ruffin was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Spanish Springs still got an impressive performance from Travis Lee, who en route to 20 points. Another player making a difference was Owen Hensley, who on his way to 12 points and five boards.

Sierra Vista's victory bumped their record up to 26-5. As for Spanish Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 24-5.

As of now, neither Sierra Vista nor Spanish Springs have any future games scheduled.
