Recap: Eastern Comets vs. Marion Giants
The Eastern Comets can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 41-22 victory over Marion. The win was just what Eastern needed coming off of a 54-20 loss in their prior match.
Marly Coan was the offensive standout of the game as she scored nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. Maggie Johnson was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Eastern's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Marion, they bumped their record down to 1-13 with that loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Cowan at 7:03 p.m. on January 2nd. Cowan comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Marion, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southwood at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Southwood and Marion are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
