Deer Valley had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt ALA - Gilbert North on Tuesday. The Deer Valley Skyhawks' pitcher stepped up to hand the ALA - Gilbert North Eagles  a   10-0 shutout. The Skyhawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven  runs or more this season.
 Adyson Ordway was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks any time she's  pitched this season. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with two  doubles and two  RBI. That's the most  doubles  she has posted since back in February of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Priscilla Lopez and  Leila Hermosillo did most of the damage at the plate:  Lopez  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-4, while  Hermosillo  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. What's more,  Lopez posted two  RBI, the most she's  had since back in April of 2024.  Avyanah Seely was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-1.
 Deer Valley  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as ALA - Gilbert North only posted  an  OBP of  .118.
Deer Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-2-1. As for ALA - Gilbert North,  they are  on  a  20-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
 Looking ahead, Deer Valley will venture away from home to  square off against Poston Butte  at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average, (Deer Valley 3.1, Poston Butte 3.8) so any  runs scored will be well earned. As for ALA - Gilbert North, they will square off against Cactus at 3:45  p.m.  on Thursday.
