Soccer Recap: Pensacola Catholic Takes a Loss

Pensacola Catholic and South Walton squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Pensacola Catholic had to settle for second. They fell just short of the South Walton Seahawks by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty eight goals in the game before, the Crusaders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Having lost for the first time this season, Pensacola Catholic fell to 17-1-1. As for South Walton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Pensacola Catholic will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Santa Fe at 5:00 p.m. on February 11th. Pensacola Catholic's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Santa Fe's offense will have their work cut out for them. South Walton also won't see the pitch for a while: their next match is against Florida State University High School at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th.
