Volleyball Recap: Cypress Creek Cougars vs. Jersey Village Falcons

After flying high against Northbrook last Friday, Cypress Creek came back down to earth. The Cypress Creek Cougars took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jersey Village Falcons on Tuesday. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Cypress Creek started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-23.

Jaeda Rawls-Fletcher paced Cypress Creek's offense, picking up 13 kills. Rawls-Fletcher got some help from Marlee Brown and her 17 assists. Brooklyn Brown controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jersey Village to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aubrey Peters, who had ten digs and five aces. That's the most aces Peters has posted in her last seven contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Spjut, who had 14 digs and 24 assists.

Cypress Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 18-25. As for Jersey Village, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-22 record this season.

Cypress Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jersey Village, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Bellaire on the 4th.
