International Community posted their closest victory since August 23rd on Thursday. They won by a set and slipped past the Lake Mary Prep Griffins 3-2. The Comets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Griffins, too.

International Community wouldn't go down easily and took Lake Mary Prep into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 27-25, 20-25, 25-19, 15-9.

Ella Jane DeLoach paced International Community's offense, picking up 20 kills. DeLoach got some help from Evelyn Hammer and her 32 assists. Finally, Savannah DeLoach kept International Community's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

International Community is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Lake Mary Prep, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. International Community will host Wekiva at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lake Mary Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Trinity Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m.
