Evangelical Christian has gone a perfect 3-0 against Covington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Eagles will face off against the Chargers at 6:30 p.m. Evangelical Christian will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Evangelical Christian came out on top against First Assembly Christian on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Crusaders. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Kyle Mabie made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in March.

In other batting news, Evangelical Christian let Caiden Caldera and Banks Addison run wild. Caldera went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Addison got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Addison has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Gates, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI.
Evangelical Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Covington was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They fell just short of Lakeland Preparatory by a score of 2-1.
Evangelical Christian's record is now 18-7. As for Covington, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.
Evangelical Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Covington in their previous matchup on Thursday, sneaking past 10-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
