Softball Recap: Bruton Comes Up Short

Bruton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Jamestown, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 8-6 on Friday. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Bruton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madyson Califano, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Bruton's record is now 3-16. As for Jamestown, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bruton will face off against Poquoson at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Islanders have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games. As for Jamestown, they will square off against New Kent at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
