Preview: Bountiful RedHawks vs. Roy Royals
Bountiful has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Roy Royals at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Bountiful knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Roy likes a good challenge.
On Wednesday, Bountiful earned a 56-47 victory over Clearfield.
It was another big night for Taylor Harvey, who scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Adelaide Stevenson, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Roy, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 50-35 loss to Woods Cross on Wednesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Roy in their matchups with Woods Cross: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Roy had strong showings from Analeise Maharaj, who scored 12 points along with two steals, and Jerzee Hart, who scored nine points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Maharaj has scored all season.
Bountiful pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.2 points per game. As for Roy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Bountiful against Roy in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 54-12 victory. Will Bountiful repeat their success, or does Roy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
