Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 80-59 to the Auburn Mountainview Lions. One positive for the Raiders, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Israel Meshesha, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Khamari Johnson, who posted 24 points and six boards.
Auburn Mountainview had a senior duo take command as Beckett Jones dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds and Sebastian Arius dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sudan Luok, who earned ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Auburn Mountainview, the win keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.
Jefferson will look to defend their home court on Friday against Kentlake at 7:00 p.m. Jefferson is facing Kentlake at the right time seeing as Kentlake is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Auburn Mountainview, they will head out on the road to challenge Beamer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Auburn Mountainview knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Beamer likes a good challenge.
