Basketball Game Preview: Westwood Panthers vs. Elkhart Elks

The Westwood Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Elkhart Elks at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Westwood turned things around against Cumberland Academy on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Knights by a score of 55-47.

Meanwhile, Elkhart hadn't done well against Crockett recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Elkhart enjoyed a cozy 42-27 victory over Crockett. The win was some much needed relief for the Elks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Elkhart's victory bumped their record up to 6-16. As for Westwood, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12.

Westwood came up short against Elkhart when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 38-33. Can Westwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
