Lincoln and Hoover are an even 5-5 against one another since June of 2021, but likely not for long. The Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Hoover likes a good challenge.

On Monday, Lincoln got the win against El Cajon Valley by a conclusive 22-3. Considering the Hornets have won 11 matches by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Hoover couldn't beat Crawford on Friday even though they stacked nine runs on them in the third inning. The Cardinals came up short against the Colts, falling 23-13. The Cardinals have struggled against the Colts recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Yazmyne Rodriguez and Izel Somarriba stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rodriguez got on base in three of her four plate appearances with six stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Somarriba got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Rodriguez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Priscilla Lopez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Lincoln pushed their record up to 12-10 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.2 runs over those games. As for Hoover, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

Everything went Lincoln's way against Hoover in their previous matchup back in April, as Lincoln made off with a 26-1 victory. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
