Preview: McDonald Blue Devils vs. Maplewood Rockets
McDonald is 3-0 against Maplewood since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The McDonald Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Maplewood Rockets at 7:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
On Friday, it was a hard-fought match, but McDonald had to settle for a 46-43 loss against Springfield.
Meanwhile, Maplewood had to suffer through a rough 84-53 loss at the hands of Mathews. Maplewood has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losing side was boosted by Alex Donaldson, who shot 4-for-8 from deep and dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Barnett, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
McDonald has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Maplewood, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.
McDonald took their win against Maplewood when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 61-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for McDonald since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
