Basketball Recap: Fairfield Beats Shelby for Their Eighth Straight Victory

Fairfield put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the Shelby Coyotes 57-43. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Coyotes are ranked 126th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fairfield pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Shelby, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Fairfield will face off against Conrad at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Conrad will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Fairfield surely won't give up without a fight. As for Shelby, they and Choteau will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
