Volleyball Recap: Norwich Free Academy Falls Short Against Ranked Woodstock Academy

Norwich Free Academy faced Woodstock Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wildcats came up short against the Centaurs, falling 3-0. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Centaurs when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-16, 25-19.

Among those leading the charge was Lillian Morgis, who had three digs and two aces. Morgis is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Norwich Free Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Woodstock Academy, their victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norwich Free Academy will host Griswold at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Woodstock Academy, they will be playing at home against Sports & Medical Sciences Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
