Football Recap: Ellensburg Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Ellensburg extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 27-25 heartbreaker at the hands of the Toppenish Wildcats. The close game was extra heartbreaking for the Bulldogs, who almost overcame a 20 point deficit.

As for Toppenish, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since September 13, 2024.

Tegan Hernandez was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 127 yards on only six carries.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Ellensburg will venture away from home to challenge Grandview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Greyhounds' rather soft defense (which has allowed 46.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Toppenish, they will head out on the road to take on Selah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Wildcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
