Albemarle is 9-1 against Monticello since January of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Albemarle Patriots will be playing at home against the Monticello Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Albemarle will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Albemarle strolled past Fluvanna County with points to spare, taking the game 47-32.

Meanwhile, Monticello had to suffer through a 65-31 loss at the hands of Louisa County. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while the Lions are ranked 175th).

Albemarle's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7. As for Monticello, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Everything came up roses for Albemarle against Monticello in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 57-21 win. Does Albemarle have another victory up their sleeve, or will Monticello turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
